Frazer Nash FN5 gun-turrets
GusMac replied to Fidd88's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Definitely a generational thing with Blender. My son taught himself it and has done some pretty amazing with it including most of his Higher Art & Design project. He's now at Uni doing Computer Games Technology so it's just the way their minds work nowadays! Pencils are prehistoric for them!! -
Nice finish. I remember those as my uncle was an AC2 at Leuchars in the 70s. They made one hell of a racket!

Ah, mine was the Tamiya Baja Bug which now seems to be called the Sand Scorcher. Great fun but I remember having fits trying to get the pressure correct in the oil damped suspension. Too much and the wheels pinged off at every little undulation but too little and it bottomed out on any little jump. -
Scottish version is grated cheese on fries (or chips as we call them). Mind you, we are also the nation that gave the world the deep fried Mars Bar. No wonder we have an issue with cardiac disease!

Stunning work with all the PE Gerald. Those Voyager sets frighten me to death - I just don't have the patience to do all the bending, etc -

Looks great Jeroen and the little movie of the laser cutting is very cool. Nice toys if you have access to them. -
Ah I spent many happy hours listening to both of them and watching Clive James on TV which featured some pretty hair-raising Japanese game shows. Two very clever, erudite people who never lost their sense of the absurd and that was what made them so funny but relate-able.

The world's most beautiful jet aeroplane?

I'll go the VC10 tankers. All the engines at the back just made the fuselage and wing lines so sleek. Pity it was so useless at it's 'day job' -

Never encountered a problem with Mr Surfacer lifting so far. Was it from the resin or the kit plastic? -
The end of plastic model videos on youtube.

I thought it was only over here that the idiots were taking over! We're also bringing in legislation, intended for drones, which will require all R/C modellers to register and sit a test. Anecdotally, people are leaving the hobby in droves. And eejits will still fly drones illegally near airports! -

Still can't believe how big that is. One wing is almost as long as the Mustang fuselage! -

Nice start Ron. How is the plastic? Looks like it could be quite hard and brittle? -
Great project Ron but the colour of the plastic is.... yeugh! I remember building a 1/72 Beaver as a kid and it was always one of my favourite kits.
