My Black Friday order from Reskit arrived today.

Nice collection. I really like the ResKit stuff, great quality and a steadily widening portfolio. I want to try Kelik 3D decals for my Gloster Gladiator. Seems to be affiliated with ResKit.

Cheers Rob

Another WW 1 subject. This time a Cannon. A French Schneider 155mm. in 1/35 scale from

Das Werk. The kit box is filled with a multitude of microscopic and delicate-looking

parts and appears to be very well-molded. There's also some tiny photo-etch parts included.

Yet another howitzer. This time from Polish maker IBG Models in 1/35 scale.

A Skoda 100 mm. VZ 14/19 as used by the Polish army post WW 1. It looks

like a decent kit, and it includes a turned aluminum barrel. This kit will build up

Into a tiny model ! A good weekend project, simple, but well-detailed.

Peter, I'm definitely not against 1/72 or any particular scale for that matter. I think it's more about consistency in the collection for me. Most of my plane kits are 1/32. It's certainly the largest part of my stash.

That being said, I've been leaning towards taking a page from Ernie and switching my jets to 1/48, especially with the newer kits coming out like the Tamiya and ZM F-4s, the Tamiya Tomcat and the Minibase Sukhois etc. I haven't taken the plunge yet because in the case of the F-4s and Tomcats (my favourite jet) I've already got them in 1/32 with a ton of AM collected. Might just have to one day especially after seeing of the WiP on here.

So like you said, it depends on the subject and what's available.

1/72 is perfect for WWII heavies - size and cost as compared to the larger scales.

Completely agree with the majority of my stash now being 48th scale jets, props 48 & 32 about even in number and 72nd starting to come on board as well. Just so much more available in 48th scale these days as that seems to be is where the manufactures are focusing their resources on. .

Keep 'em comin

First buy of the New Year, despite saying I will build what I have first! A very rare foray into 1/72! Can also see the 1/48 Anson and 1/48 Bucc from Airfix appearing as well. Also have the  1/35 K2 ambulance on pre order.
I would love a DH Dove or Devon in 1/48 as well.

Waiting for me when I got home from work today was my first Great Wall Hobby kit.

I took a quick peek in the box. The detail is very nicely done.

You can't complain about the decal placement sheet being too small.

The kit also has a nice patch included in it.

It looks very nice overall. Just need to finish some other stuff first.

Great score!

Thanks guys!

One option in the kit is the way they display the engine. The entire nose is a separate section and you can swap between the closed up nose or the exposed engine on the airframe.  The engine can be displayed separately on a stand too.
