  1. Thanks Phil, I'm sure you are right Keep 'em comin Peter
  2. Kent Nice going on getting the cowling to fit, as there always seems to be a struggle somewhere fitting fully finished sub assemblies. Keep 'em comin Peter
  3. Phil Agree completely about the virtues of 48th scale and over the past year I've been building in both 48th and 32nd scale - just enjoy both. The details in the newer 48th scale kits are amazing and working in both scales keep the juices flowing for me. Keep 'em comin Peter
  4. Rob Nice save on the canopy and the glass looks absolutely perfect. Thank you for the "How To" as it will come in very handy down the road. I've lived through the Phantom canopy issues in the past and now try to deal with the canopy as a removable part, just in case of he dreaded interior staining at the very end of the build. 5. Rich Nice start on the cab - you make it look so easy and we surely know it's not - it's an art and skill I know I can not do. Keep 'em comin Peter
  6. Frank Nothing like a Tamiya kit and so well worth the money. I've bought the Revell kits more out of curiosity and for the money they are good buys but no where near the detail, fit and crispness of Tamiya. I do have Revell's Spitfire Mk11a and will build it with a lot of AM sets and then I'll be back with Tamiya. Keep 'em comin Peter
  7. Kai Your Rio bangseat and instrument panel assembly look spot on and so good. Weathering is light, so very realistic and so good.. Your style of weathering compliments my thoughts and preference: light and delicate to bring out the details and textures. Anything more would require the model to be shown on a vignette style base, letting the viewer understand: time, place and the reason for the chosen weathering. Keep 'em comin Peter
  8. Dan Excellent progress - looking good, Keep 'em comin Peter
  9. John Your wings look great and I struggled beyond description. It seems almost every P-51 I've built the radiator air scoop under the fuselage has been a bear to fit and sand smooth. Has to be a better way to mold it. I'm guessing that the real issue is how the manufacturers try to detail the radiators themselves and for my money, gee, just mold them in place, who ever looks in there any way? After the hosue reno, I'll be finishing up my Revell Mustang (your build is keeping my juices flowing) and then I'm going to build one of the new Eduard 48th scale P-51D's as I'm hoping they solved how to do the radiators without all the fit issues. Long way done the road for me. Keep 'em comin Peter
  10. Mike Incredible work ... fantastic results Keep 'em comin Peter

  13. Jeroen I'm just blown away - nothing else to say Keep 'em comin Peter
  14. Gaz Figures look terrific .. wish I could do a tenth as good. Keep 'em comin Peter
  15. Gaz Not sure at what I am looking at; SMS, ALCLAD or AK. Is it masking over SMS? Keep 'em comin Peter
  16. Thanks Ernie Some very cool kits are on the horizon. Keep 'em comin Peter

  19. At first I wasn't going to comment after reading all the posts and comments but the core of the situation is being completely missed: the build thread itself. The author of each build thread takes upon himself the manor of construction of the kit, the build thread theme, comments, solutions to problems encountered, the quality of photography and the presentation. For all who take this route, it's a lot of hard work we do for all to enjoy and learn from. What a build thread isn't, is an open invitation to comment, start a discussion that has nothing to do with the build thread or post any photos you want of other builds. Historical photos are always welcome as a terrific source of information and help. Want to post photographs of your own work or comment on what you feel was an error in building, no problem - send a PM first - it works wonders. Everyone has the opportunity to voice their opinion but use some common sense and try an avoid ruffling feathers - send that PM first. If you still feel something needs to be said, start your own thread and do not include it in the build thread. Just not that hard to do. I'm willing to bet 99% of the time, the individual who started the thread will have no objections, it's just common courtesy. Just take a few seconds, think and be considerate. After all what would the forum be if those that take the time to create threads decided for whatever reason, it isn't worth the time, effort and aggravation? Peter
  20. John Completely agree: "Thank goodness for good quality Tamiya parts!" As always your progress is amazing and never a compromise in the high level of workmanship. Keep 'em comin Peter
  21. JOhn Awesome progress as always and you have easily conquered the Revell kit. The parts you have replaced worked out perfectly, including the exhaust. I struggled with the revell ones, including drilling them out and yours look so much better. Keep 'em comin Peter
  22. Welcome back Ryan and looking forward to following your builds Keep 'em comin Peter
  23. Ryan Looking real good and shows good clean construction, as small errors and goofs can't be hidden - just a different discipline and my way of building. I'm not a weathering guy and prefer my models to be either as a museum type display aircraft or just off the assembly line and on the Flightline for the first time. I do like to add a bit of wash and some very light dry brushing but that's as far as I go. Keep 'em comin Peter
  24. Just can't go wrong with SB - Top Notch and a Class Act. Keep 'em comin Peter
  25. Phil Now that's a great fit for sure. Keep 'em comin Peter
