  2. Maru Thank you for the information and link. Airfix's new 1/24 Spitfire looks awesome. Keep 'em comin Peter
  3. At first I wasn't going to comment after reading all the posts and comments but the core of the situation is being completely missed: the build thread itself. The author of each build thread takes upon himself the manor of construction of the kit, the build thread theme, comments, solutions to problems encountered, the quality of photography and the presentation. For all who take this route, it's a lot of hard work we do for all to enjoy and learn from. What a build thread isn't, is an open invitation to comment, start a discussion that has nothing to do with the build thread or post any photos you want of other builds. Historical photos are always welcome as a terrific source of information and help. Want to post photographs of your own work or comment on what you feel was an error in building, no problem - send a PM first - it works wonders. Everyone has the opportunity to voice their opinion but use some common sense and try an avoid ruffling feathers - send that PM first. If you still feel something needs to be said, start your own thread and do not include it in the build thread. Just not that hard to do. I'm willing to bet 99% of the time, the individual who started the thread will have no objections, it's just common courtesy. Just take a few seconds, think and be considerate. After all what would the forum be if those that take the time to create threads decided for whatever reason, it isn't worth the time, effort and aggravation? Peter
  4. John Completely agree: "Thank goodness for good quality Tamiya parts!" As always your progress is amazing and never a compromise in the high level of workmanship. Keep 'em comin Peter
  5. JOhn Awesome progress as always and you have easily conquered the Revell kit. The parts you have replaced worked out perfectly, including the exhaust. I struggled with the revell ones, including drilling them out and yours look so much better. Keep 'em comin Peter
  6. Welcome back Ryan and looking forward to following your builds Keep 'em comin Peter
  7. Ryan Looking real good and shows good clean construction, as small errors and goofs can't be hidden - just a different discipline and my way of building. I'm not a weathering guy and prefer my models to be either as a museum type display aircraft or just off the assembly line and on the Flightline for the first time. I do like to add a bit of wash and some very light dry brushing but that's as far as I go. Keep 'em comin Peter
  8. Just can't go wrong with SB - Top Notch and a Class Act. Keep 'em comin Peter
  9. Phil Now that's a great fit for sure. Keep 'em comin Peter
  10. She looks good to me. I know one is being fully restored to airworthiness but can't remember where or by whom Keep 'em comin Peter
  11. I buy a kit with the sole intention of building it. Collecting kits as an investment: I hear the Brooklyn Bridge is still up for sale. Keep 'em comin Peter
  12. Hi Franks I've been working on the Revell P-51D (early) kit and it's now on hold while the house renovation is starting. Nice kit and well worth the money but after having built three Tamiya P-51D's, two different ends of the scale. Looking forward to your next update. Keep 'em comin Peter
  13. Gaz Just might happen as during the reno, I might find a place to build but no painting until everythig is done. Keep 'em comin Peter
  14. Frank Magnificent, a J3 Cub restored in all her glory. I've saved the photo and am going to use it for desktop. In my earlier days after we were married and working full time, first purchase was a 1962 Piper Colt 5544Z in 1971. Never should have sold her but back then it became an expense I couldn't afford. Same wing (jkust shorter in span) and airfoil: if I remember correctly, a Clark Y but I'm just remembering back over 50 years. Please post lost of photos, she is a beauty. Keep 'em comin Peter
  15. Hubert Way too generous and I'm with Rog on this - way beyond my limited computer capabilities and something I would never use. Keep 'em comin Peter
  16. Brad One good looking Mig - cammo work looks spot on the money. Neat and clean - just as I like them. Keep 'em comin Peter
  17. Kent Just love it when a build reaches this stage of completion and it's weathering and washes time, as the impact of the build is there to appreciate. Beautiful work - paint and decals are superb. Hoping you keep the weathering on the light side. Keep 'em comin Peter
  18. Thanks Kent Getting ready to start with deliveries scheduled for this week and I wish we were already done. Almost like just sitting down in the dentist chair, looking at the clock for the hour procedure to start and the clock hardly moves. Keep 'em comin Peter
  19. Gus Looking mighty good and you have to love Huey's. Keep 'em comin Peter
  20. Phil It's on the list for sure. Keep 'em comin
  21. Phil Looking mighty good and awesome progress. I too was thinking about the canopy fit and now knowing it's a spot on fit, the roll out is close at hand. Keep 'em comin Peter
  22. Phil Perfect choice for your next build and I'll be following along - front and center. Just can't go wrong with an Eduard Profi kit. Believe it or not, I have a few Profi kits in the stash and hoping to build them this year. Keep 'em comin Peter
  23. Two part belts look excellent and far better then the kit part. The only thing I see is the larger pulley needs a. bit of clean up at the top and that's it.. Keep 'em comin Peter
  24. Frank Glad to see the Mustang underway again and looking so good. Keep 'em comin Peter
  25. Mike Enjoying following your progress and as always, simply amazed at the work. Keep 'em comin Peter
