sluggo
Scored some LS German goodies by trading off some armor I would never have built. Ordered this from Sprue Bros. Picked this up at Hobby Lobby today for 17 bux. Having a helluva time finding the Airfix 1:72 B-17G here in the states. Going to build this up for a friend who's Grand Father was a waist gunner on 42-102506 Contrary Mary K8*L. This morning I ordered a 1:48 B-1B platinum, a ROG single seat 262 and some decals from Sprue Bros. I had to contact their help email to consolidate two orders to save shipping and they were awesome. Great people over there.

Dale, I've started up again on my Bandai Millennium Falcon and am using Vallejo washes on it. Here's what they look like on a couple pieces. I thin them down with water as I apply them so they're not so opaque. Hope that helps. HubertB
Got some decals from Draw Decals. If you have not guessed I am not in camoed aircrafts by now ... I am missing some Dago Red decals. Greg forgot to include them in the first package, and they are on their way. So now I have a choice of a mildly modified P-51 D with Voodoo, or a more modified one with Dago Red (unless I do both, of course ). I also received an interesting package from China, but one "sprue" (technically not a "sprue", in fact) was missing. So you'll have to wait until I get the missing component to see it Hubert PS :and of course, I blame Tony for the Draw Decals' "investment"
TJTX
You'll love them Hubert. They really spice up your display case.

LOL, probably easier than flying a stolen MiG by thinking in Russian . How's the Aires set look? I just closed up the fuselage on my He162 but used the Eduard PE set. Carl It's just lovely. The trick, as with most Aires, is how it fits and how much fettling will be required. This is the bigger set #2033; with cockpit, wheels and wheel wells, and port only weapons bay. There was a #2027 set sans wheels and weapon, but I'm not sure if it's still available. The kit cockpit sidewalls will need to be shaved off and the MG bay door removed from the fuselage, otherwise the assemblies are all drop-in. Cockpit: Wheel wells: Also included is the detail inside the nose cone. Main wheels are nicely done, weighted with a very slight toe-out at the base. MG 151 bay and weapon. The rear of the cockpit bulkhead is nicely notched to accept the front of the bay; the only drawback to this is that it will require a lot of modification to the bulkhead if you wanted to scratch-build the starboard bay for yourself. The package is rounded out with a P/E fret for the seatbelts etc, and a small clear sheet with the instrument faces printed on. HTH, S 3
BlrwestSiR
Thanks Wumm! It definitely looks nicer than the kit parts. The gun bay is already opened up on the kit. I closed mine and the panel fit wasn't bad. Hopefully the Aires parts don't require much to make fit nicely. Carl

Sir Desmond Glazebrook
I was able to bag several great deals on Xmas eve and then the following week. Here is what I got. Airfix Victor. $39.00. Meteor $29.99. P-70 $29.99. Nesher $29.99. Skyraider $29.99. Hunter $33.99. (I also have the Airfix Hunter. I can now build a 6 & 9.) I have AM for each Hunter. Re-boxing of the fine Hasegawa P-51, $27.49. It is not the Eduard or Tamiya, but it is still a nice model. Re-boxing of the great Dragon 262 night fighter $27.49. I was going to buy the Gaspatch version on the Hs-123, but at $22.49 I settled on this. And it is a nice kit, and I have decals and ip for a Chinese bird. Got this or 1/2 price. I bought the AM separately. This was a pre-order from Japan I bought months ago that arrived 23 December. I got it just over 1/2 retail. All the rest were 20% off retail.
